www.presearing.com, or stand in Ascalon and ask for a gate monkey (who may or may not be free). You will need a 2 person party.

Once in a party, exit Ascalon, turn right and head up the hill. When you get to the top keep going in the same general direction. Eventually you will see a gate, and an interactive lever. One of the party HAS to pull the lever, and the other person runs through the gate.

There is a guard at the gate offering the quest "Over The Wall", follow it and you'll see some Charr. There's about 12 groups of Charr in the Northlands, and 4 Charr bosses.

Just go to the Northlands across the wall in Lakeside County without taking the quest and you will find many Charr to battle with. However, you will need someone in your party to open the gate for you.

Another alternative, if you are low level 7 and below, is to take the quest "Charr at the Gate" from Prince Rurik in Ascalon City, kill the Charr, abandon the quest and redo, rinse and repeat. At level 8 and below you find that you stand little chance against the Charr in the Northlands, which are level 8 and the Shaman are level 7 and mostly in groups of 4. The 4 bosses at the shrine are level 10.

Hope this helps.

What your talking about is probably the Charr in the Northlands. I suggest if your level 8+ in Pre-Searing just "LFG Charr Hunting" in local chat, in Ascalon City, and then you go to the gate and one of you pulls the lever and one of you goes through the gate. After that you just kill charr and the bosses.

Pretty easy

If you take Rurik's quest some appear in front of the gate.

Wait a second. Ok I have a Perma pre toon. ImNotYourMother lvl 17.

If you are looking to kill the charr all by yourself then yes in the party window click on search and then use the pull down menu under HUNTING and type something like this..

Charr lvl (whatever lvl you are or a little higher)

I post like this..

Hunting: Charr lvl 12+ monk/ele or something along those lines.

Also you can lvl yourself up killing charr with Prince Rurik. Once you reach lvl 2 - really easy to do by killing the bull just outside of Ascalon. He is in the water just to the right and up from the exit/enterance of Ascalon. he is lvl 5 so you get massive amouts of XP killing it when your lvl 1.

once at lvl 2 go to ascalon and run up the stairs past the armor guys and then up the stairs again to the LEFT and find Price Rurik with an arrow above his head. Take that quest. It is called CHARR AT THE GATE. Run out of Ascalon.

Wait until the Prince starts to run and then double click on him and you will follow him to the charr at the gate. NOTE: If you do not want to die, Break AGRO with the prince BEFORE he gets to the charr. Inother words just click on the ground and the price will run ahead of you and then stop. The Healer and War that run behind you will now catch up. Double click on the prince again and he will run and take the agro off of the charr and then start to kill the 4 charr that are there.

once you kill all 4 charr DO NOT TALK TO THE PRINCE. Map back to ascalon. I knnow that the price has an arrow above his head. Ignore it. Map back to ascalon and open your quest menu. On the Charr at the gate click the ABANDON button. Run back up the stairs and take the quest again from the prince. You will be able to do this FOREVER as long as you do not accept the rewards.

Once you get the hang of this then only kill 3 of the charr and then map back fast. This will save you from running up and down those stupid stairs all of the time and make things way way faster.

You can get yourself to lvl 10 in a day doing this very easily. Why do all of this? Cause no one wants to kill charr in the northlands with a lvl 3. You will die repeatedly and get no xp cause you do not know how the dynamics of the charr run works until you do it a couple of hundred times.

So once at lvl 10 you will know how to agro charr and deagro the Prince. This is good stuff. Also if you go into the northlands I do not want to hear that you do not have a LONGBOW in your inventory. EVEN IF you are NOT a ranger you MUST have a long bow for PULLING the charr without pulling the HUGE group and bosses.

When in the northlands and a the shrine kill all of the charr around the shrine first if you are there for the first 100 times. I will map out and leave you there if you run up and stab them with a sword agrowing the whole group. Play smart here make you a way better player in post.

Use your bow to shoot a charr and the group of 1 or 2 or 3 or 4 will come try to kill you.. Once they are out of the range of the others then kill them. I always shoot an arrow and then back 10-15 feet or so to make sure that Blaze can not heal them as I try and kill them. If you follow this you will be successful in the northlands at LOWER levels to.

Of course I am not talking if you have the fire imp. This thing is way over powered in pre. If you have this then just ignore all strategy and put your imp out and it pawns everything. just stay back far enough so that you get xp from the stuff that it kills.

Hope this helps. For more information look up www.presearing.com for complete guides and run throughs
